Romantic movies are great!! Well… at least for many people. It may not be for everyone, but it's really nice to watch the stories of lovers once in a while and share their joys and pains. It's also perfect for a day spent in (not saying you can't enjoy a day alone 😘). So, if you're feeling romance, passion, and a lot of anxiety, here's a list of some great movies
I'm not a big fan of romantic movies, but sometimes I see movies that capture my heart and make me believe in the lasting power of love. These movies are part of it. It covers a wide variety of genres, from teen romances to historical films to sci-fi.
1. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (2018)
When the film was released in August 2018, it quickly went viral. Everyone was raving about how cute the couple was (and how hot the lead man was too...) so I decided to check it out.
To All the Boys I've Loved Before Her Lara Jean (Lana Condor) is the story of a high school sophomore who writes a love letter to each of her crushes and keeps it in a box. Her life is turned upside down when her letter is sent.
The movie is cute, has a lot of drama, and the actors are very good. In fact, the movie was so popular that it even got a sequel!
2. The Age of Adaline (2015)
The Age of Adaline is one of those movies that captures your heart for being not only romantic, but also quite magical.
The story follows Adaline Bowman (Blake Lively), a woman who dies in an accident. She lives her long life, traveling here and there to avoid getting caught, and meets Ellis Jones (Michelle Hausman), a man who dares to love her.
There are many things in this movie that I won't spoil for you, except for caveats. Never thought this twist would come! Harrison Ford also appears, so check it out!
3. Love, Simon (2018)
Love, it's physically impossible to make a list of romance movies (or any movie) without including Simon. The film is based on Becky Albertali's Simon vs Homo Sapiens Agenda.
The story revolves around Simon Spire (Nick Robinson). Simon Spire (Nick Robinson) is a withdrawn gay high school student who is being blackmailed by another student, Martin (Logan Miller). When Martin finds an email between Simon and another boy, Blue, he finds out his secret. In addition, Simon tries to find out Blue's true identity. This movie is not only the best romance movie, but it is also a very important movie, and I am very happy that it was produced.
4. Cloud Atlas (2012)
I will never forget the first time I heard about this movie. Her sister saw it and she couldn't stop talking about it. When she finally saw it, she knew why. This is one of my all time greatest movies (romance or otherwise).
Cloud Atlas is a movie that follows the actions of multiple people across six different timelines. The film shows how people's lives are intertwined over the centuries and how one person's actions can change the course of another person's life in another era. .
Although this movie is very philosophical, it contains a lot of forbidden love, romance, and features many couples. I fell in love with it. Tip: Be careful when watching this movie.
5. The Notebook (2004)
Could a list of the best romantic movies be complete without a film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' book? No, I don't think so😄
The love between Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling) and wealthy girl Allie (Rachel McAdams) remains unchanged for decades despite separation (due to social differences), war and illness.
This is one of those movies that most people would immediately mention if asked for a romantic movie recommendation, and it deserves a spot on this list!
